Dear Parents & Carers

I wanted to write to you to share some news about our Principal, Ben Tucker.

Last week Mr Tucker became seriously unwell. Thankfully, he was able to receive treatment very quickly in hospital and having received good care he is now on the road to recovery. Whilst this is shocking news for him and for us, we are all very pleased that he is doing so well.

Whilst we can be reassured that Mr Tucker will make a full recovery, this will take some time and he is unlikely to return to the Academy until later in Term 3Because of this, from Monday we will be welcoming an Acting Principal, Mr Kris Bridgeman. Mr Bridgeman is currently the Vice Principal at Bristol Metropolitan Academy, one of our partner schools within the Cabot Learning Federation. He has worked at Bristol Met for a number of years and is a very experienced leader. He will be joining us as Acting Principal until Mr Tucker is well enough to return to the Academy. I know you will join me in welcoming Mr Bridgeman to our team; there are no other planned staff changes so the rest of the City Academy team will remain the same.

Thank you for making Mr Bridgeman welcome in your interactions with him. He will be joining our school from Monday morning and will meet your children formally then. I’m sure you will join me in wishing Mr Tucker all the best for a speedy recovery, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is better.

Yours sincerely

Catherine Hickey, Vice Principal
