Adult Education at the Beacon Centre
We run accredited ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses. Our classes are at different levels, from Entry 1 to Entry 3 and are taught by qualified, experienced teachers. 22/23 Courses run over 2 semesters:
- Semester 1 – September to January (50 hours)
- Semester 2 – January to July (90 hours)
Courses are free (2022-2023) for people on certain benefits, but additional eligibility and residency criteria may also apply. Please ask us for further details.
We also have free ESOL for Beginners courses. These classes meet for 2 hours per week and introduce learners to basic speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.
For more information about our courses, please call Trina or Charly 0117 954 2806 or pop into the Beacon Centre, next to City Academy, BS5 9JH.
We’d recommend the following website https://leb.community/. LEB.community is the website of the Learning English in Bristol network. It provides information about the ESOL classes, courses and conversation clubs in the city – all in one place. It is also a place to find learning and teaching resources, relevant reports and links to organisations that may be useful to ESOL learners.
