Letter to Year 8 Parents
Dear Parents and Carers of Year 8 Students
I am writing to update you with regard to our plans for learning over the course of next week. You will be aware that we have had some cases of coronavirus within our staff and student community and that a number of colleagues, many of whom live in the local community, are needing to isolate at home.
Safety is always my first priority, and it is important to ensure that all students on site can be safely cared for throughout the day. Unfortunately, we are in the position where staff shortages would mean too many Year 8 lessons would have to be covered by supply teachers over the course of next week. Therefore, I have taken the difficult decision that Year 8 students do not attend the Academy next week, from Monday 23rd until Friday 27th November, in the interests of safety. At this time, we fully expect that Year 8 will be able to return to the Academy on Monday 30th November.
