Permanent Principal for City Academy

Dear Parents and Carers,
You may recall that I wrote to you last academic year to share with you the news of Mr Angell’s departure and our plans as a trust and as a school for the appointment of the next Principal for City Academy Bristol.
I wanted to write to you today to provide you with an important update regarding that appointment.
Following a rigorous two day process, I have great pleasure in sharing with you that the permanent Principal for City Academy Bristol is Mr Ben Tucker. As you will know, Ben is currently the Interim Principal, stepping up from his Vice Principal role, having been a part of the City Academy staff body for many years.
Mr Tucker performed very strongly throughout the process, showing a depth of understanding of the school and an immense capacity for learning and leadership development. His ambition and vision for the school are rooted in a strong understanding of the communities within and beyond the school and the trust, and I am looking forward to working with him, and with you, to realise these ambitions in the coming years.
I’d like to thank the students, staff, parents and community members involved in the process for the significant roles played in ensuring that the process went smoothly and for sharing insight and feedback throughout.

Dear Parents & Carers
I am honoured and deeply proud to be given the opportunity to lead the Academy that I have worked in for the past 20 years.
I look forward to continuing to work with students, parents and the local community to provide all children with the educational experience they, and this community, deserve.
