Big drama at City Academy

Students at City Academy in Bristol enjoyed a taste of what it would be like to tread the boards on stage, when they were given an inspirational drama workshop by directors and facilitators from the internationally-renowned Bristol Old Vic.

The two-hour workshop, involving 20 Year 9 students, covered a wide range of theatrical activities, including rapping, creative improvisation, and performances.

Students also played drama games and devised a performance piece which they then brought to life on stage.

Rebecca Pearce, drama teacher at City Academy, said: “It was an excellent experience for all of the students and several have expressed a keen interest in joining the group based at Bristol Old Vic.”
