City Academy students inspired at careers event
City Academy Year 11 students enjoyed an engaging and informative day at this year’s Open to Options careers event, hosted at the academy.
The event brought together 24 visitors, representing local businesses as well as further education and higher education providers.
The day was designed to give students the chance to explore future pathways, interact with professionals from diverse fields, and seek advice tailored to their ambitions.
Students had the unique opportunity to interview a variety of individuals from different industries and educational backgrounds, helping them gain insights and confidence as they considered their next steps after school.
Rachel Martin Careers and Aspirations Coordinator at City Academy, said: “A huge thank you to our visitors who created a friendly, fun, and inspiring environment for our students to feel confident in asking the questions they wanted.
“An employer commented that it was a great idea to encourage students to have those five-minute conversations with the employers and education providers so students could build their confidence in talking to adults.”
City Academy extends its gratitude to all the visitors and staff who made the event such a success, empowering students to take meaningful steps toward their future.
